I am a business executive with over 15 years experience in roles such as CFO, COO and CEO in New Zealand and overseas. Although I love driving business and being an executive, I have realized my real passion is helping leaders be the best they can be. Plus, my executive roles have taught me that behind every business or financial problem there is normally a people problem!
Early on in my career I started focusing on growing my leaders and the impact was huge. However, I realised there was a big gap in the way leadership was taught and what we expected people to do back in their jobs. We sent leaders on 3 days courses hoping that when they returned to their desk they were magically different people. However, the reality was that less than 10% of what was taught was actually implemented. Why? Because leaders need practical tools to set them up for success not theory, and they need support as they change their leadership. Hence, The Leadership Academy was born.
My training and communication style is fun and energetic. I make a point of communicating things in a practical and down-to-earth way - after all, if you don’t understand what you need to do and how to do it, the training has failed. I use research and science-backed approaches, and help you implement the learnings into your life through the exercises and fortnightly coaching sessions.
The Leadership Academy is a complete wrap-around approach to foundational leadership, with heavy emphasis on practical implementation.
